As a sexual health educator, Stephanie spoke about consent, saying that these conversations start as early as possible, even with babies. When a baby stiffens, for example, and looks nervously toward the parent, they don't want us to continue whatever we're doing. But if they wave their arms and legs in excitement, that's the infant equivalent of "Hell, yes!" To understand 'enthusiastic consent' by adolescence, young children must learn to decode other people's body language in non-sexual situations. The new curriculum will help us raise a generation of people who understand that they have rights in relation to their own bodies as well as responsibilities towards other people's bodies.
